Dr. E Kandasamy alias Kumar

Dr. E Kandasamy alias Kumar is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based in Tamil Nadu. Since 2011 he has been serving as Senior Assistant Professor and Chief Civil Surgeon in the Department of Medical Gastroenterology at Tirunelvi Medical College, Tirunelvi. Dr. Kumar can be consulted at Jayalakshmi Gastro Liver and Diabetic Centre in Tirunelveli. He also visits NMS Hospital in Sankarankoil, Aarthi Hospital in Kovilpatti and Mohammed Medical Centre in Tenkasi.

Dr. Kumar served for eight years at the rural level as a medical officer in primary health centres and taluka hospitals, from 1992 to 2000. Subsequently he taught in various capacities over the last 15 years. His academic experience includes his posting as Tutor in Sexually Transmitted Diseases from 2000 to 2003, and then as Assistant Professor of Medicine from 2003 to 2007. He was then designated as Tutor in Thoracic Medicine (2007-2008), and Biochemistry (2008-2009). He was promoted as Assistant Professor of Medicine from 2009 to 2011. Since then, he has held the title of Senior Assistant Professor in Medical Gastroenterology.

Dr. Kandasamy has had two research papers published and one presented at a medical conference. He has delivered numerous lectures on varied topics and for diverse audiences such as police officers, PHC medical officers, and medical students and doctors at CMEs organised by Indian Medical Association chapters in Tirunelvi and neighbouring towns.
